Constant Speed Propeller

Post by laduke09 »

Hi:

Please share your thoughts on the blue lever. CFI told me to pull it back to 2400 at about 400-500 AGL. Then leave it there until you put flaps to landing. If you're on a longer flight, the plane has a card in the cockpit with the MAN/RPM settings for different performance levels- easy to use.

Specifically what is the order you pull back throttle & RPM levers? During takeoff, do you pull RPM back first then throttle? What about during cruise climb? And during approach & descent?

Thanks!!!

I pull the prop back to 2400 at about 400 AGL, leave WOT at least until cruise, often until descent.

I think the control manipulation order is the same on all constant prop planes:
- Increase power: Right to left (T/P/M <--)
- Decrease power: Left to Right (--> T/P/M)
