After half a year just working, today my A/C only ran for 1-2 minutes and it shuts down. The overhead panel goes dark. I try to reset the alternator, but the panel just blinks and goes dark again. If I wait 5+ minutes, it works again for 1-2 minutes only.
Has anyone seen something like that?

I recall that this behavior is what happened on my DA62.
It turned out that I needed a new 3rd alternator (which, BTW, is the same alternator that Diamond uses as the main (single) alternator for Lycoming DA40s). Unfortunately it cost me about $5K to have it replaced.

Thanks. Good thing I'm still under warranty.
It's ridiculous that the alternator failed with probably less than 30-50 hours of use.

When I had alternator nonsense a while back it ended up being the voltage regulator - is there a separate one for that circuit?

I also needed a new alternator for the A/C. My problem was similar to what you described, but after the replacement it's been working beautifully. Seems to be a known flaw on the DA62!
