Re: DA50 crash
The first one in the Netherlands looks very odd. It barely looks like a crash. Tail is burned off but the fuselage is fine? Wing tips are burned off? Gear is down. Bad landing? Rejected takeoff? Good to learn the pilot apparently just climbed out and was able to get away from the fire.
The second one is pretty much self explanatory. According to the AFM, a 2,100' grass runway with trees at the end of the runway is barely enough to launch, but doesn't leave room for an aborted takeoff. Despite serious dents in both wings, no fire and the pilot presumably walked away.

DA50 RG burned out at Budel-Kempen Airport
2 September 2023 |963 Views
BUDEL – A Belgian registered Diamond Aircraft DA50 RG burned out on Saturday morning (2 September) at Budel-Kempen Airport (EHBD).
The aircraft, the OO-HAN, returned to the airport around 09:55 after departure from Budel due to engine problems. On return, the aircraft hit the ground with a wing, after which it caught fire and burned out completely. The pilot managed to get out of the burning aircraft, but was slightly injured.
The Dutch Safety Board travelled to Kempen AirPort as a result of the incident.

Re: DA50 crash
Eek. I understand it's a new airframe and there have got to be gaps in teaching, and potentially gotchas in manufacturing, but... isn't this a sizable percentage of all DA50 airframes manufactured to date?

Re: DA50 crash
The one in Europe is worrisome...
The one in SC seems to be just pure and simple stupidity by the pilot (IF the report is true)

Re: DA50 crash
The report is directly FROM the pilot. It is his airstrip.
"The plane seems great, but I'd need to try it out at my private grass strip to make sure it works in my usual use case."
"Of course. We'll let you fly it in when we are in the area doing demo flights."
"No, it doesn't really work for me, I think I need a Maule. Thanks!"
