Another Newbie - Part II - the microphone

OK, what use is the Telex microphone? The DA62 has no speaker. If the headset packs it in, then we could broadcast "in the blind" with the microphone? This feels like some ancient FAA requirement that has no use in the real world.

Bingo.
And did they really kill the speaker? There was one in our DA40 and in the DA42. None in the DA62? I know pilot that listen to their ATIS over the speaker as they are doing other little tasks in the cockpit getting ready.

Russ is correct. There is no speaker per the DA62 AMM.
