Diamond schools in Atlanta area for leaseback

Post by hifiaudio2 »

Hi folks,

Anyone know any good schools in the Atlanta area that would be interested in a DA40NG? May be moving to the area.

Dragonfly has several da40s but none are NG. They also have a 42 with the earlier diesels. Before I bought my NG I asked about leaseback and they weren’t interested. But maybe they are now. The downside is the school is in Winder and that can be a long drive from Atlanta.

I rented from Dragonfly for a year or so to build hours on DA40's before buying. Heidi and John run a good operation. DA20's as well. At that time they had one leaseback DA40 but I think they owned the balance of their fleet. As Michael mentions, Winder is a bit far for people in the city, but very workable for people living northwest of Atlanta.

Academy of Aviation in Peachtree City (KFFC, about 30 minutes southwest of Atlanta) runs a Part 141 program with Diamonds. A friend's son is currently getting his commercial with them.

Yup .. called them too.. and they said only if I had a DA42. Never got past the gatekeeper but he said he talked to the owners. Not sure they realized / cared it was a NG with Fadec.

For what its worth, if I do move to Atlanta, Peachtree / PDK is top area on my list.

I flew out of PDK for years with the Georgia Tech Flying Club. There are several good schools at PDK that would be good candidates for you. FYI, it is one of the busier Class Delta airports around Atlanta and likely impossible to get hangar space. That is why I moved to KLZU.
