Thank you for contacting Garmin International. There is a known issue with Ventura. Apple updated to Ventura a while back and locked out multiple apps including Garmins. We are actively working on a resolution for this. At this time, you will need a windows computer or another Mac not running Ventura to load the databases.
I thought I'd check out this rather broad statement. I updated firmware/data without any problem using my intel-based MacBook/Ventura to a couple of my Garmin motorcycle GPS units using the Garmin Express app. This has always been more user-friendly than Garmin's aviation database update process. Garmin Express is on a par with Jeppesen's JDM with respect to usability on PC/Mac.

I also had no problem updating my Sean MC helmet headset firmware using Sena's application.

I felt compelled to post this goofiness. This is me kinda-sorta using my Mac in updating this next cycle :D . In reality it's my iPad/Wombat doing the work, but the Mac is in a mode where its mouse and keyboard are controlling the iPad. Too much time on my hands, I guess

I have an M1 MacBook Pro with Ventura 13.0.1 running Garmin DB Manager 22.12.8

Just updated my databases to an SD Card and everything seemed to work fine. A little too cold here to head over to Driggs to see if the G1000 Nxi takes it. Minus 18 F this morning.

Slightly off topic but Jeppesen JDM doesn’t work with Ventura either with announced resolving date end of January 2023.

As previously posted. Hence my workaround of using iOS/iPadOS w/wombat.

JDM MacOS version 3.14 released today.

Conclusion: It works with Ventura on my intel-based MacBook. But there are a couple of things that make it look a bit of a rushed effort:

1) Lost the Mac app "look and feel" of putting the “JDM, Help, Window” dropdowns on the Mac OS status bar. Instead it has the old Windows paradigm of embedding in the app panel itself.
2) Initially gives the old alert about no media found. Clicking on the "media information" link brings up a list of stuff but suddenly identifies the card correctly.

Is that a developer version of MacOS you are talking about?

I upgraded to Ventura today (after getting next Jepp cycle :) ) but didn't get any notice on new version of JDM.

Open JDM. It showed up as an alert within JDM. In any case you go to the Jepp site and download/install the new version.

BTW, in my case it's updating the proprietary cards for the GNS units.
