I’ve got some wear on the front strut bolt, (silver area above the unthreaded part of the bolt) It doesn’t appear to be that bad, however I wanted to know if anyone has had this bolt replaced? It looks simple enough to replace the bolt (cut, drill, tap and reinstall).
Or should I not worry about it? It appears to be superficial and the bolt doesn’t take much load.
There is pitting on the shaft.

Re: Front nose strut bolt repair?
Yes we've seen a few but nothing this severe. This requires an entirely new nose strut. This isn't awful but requires a good mechanic who knows how to drill out the new bolt hole. You will often need to hone out the transverse tube a little bit as well to fit the bearings inside of it.
