The two seat middle row is not bad. It has more legroom (because of two missing legs ) I'd prefer that. Even the 6 seater with 2-2-2 is better than the 5 seater with 2-3-0. The downside of the 6 seater is less (missing) baggage capability because of the last row.

Re: DA62 Rear Seats
My dealer in the US tells me that there will not be a six-seat version, at least not in the US. In the 2-seat middle row configuration, the seats are moved back to accommodate the recline and more legroom, thereby leaving insufficient space for the 3d row seat occupants to egress in an emergency. So the options will be 4-seat, 5-seat or 7-seat configurations. The EASA may do something different but that’s what I’m hearing here … agree that if 6 was an option it would be better than 7 in some ways but I would not hold my breath for it.
Glad to hear that the 2-seat middle row option is comfortable!

Re: DA62 Rear Seats
Thanks for the advice etc - with my dog and carrying the baggage I need to, the 5 seat version works well for me, a 4 seat version is tempting but on occasion I do use the 5 seats but it’s a real squeeze with 3 in the back. I think the problem of more comfortable seats isn’t a hard one to solve without impacting the integrity / safety aspects. I raised it directly with Diamond who said they will look into it. Which could mean anything.

Re: DA62 Rear Seats
Due to being short, I ordered custom cushions in order to increase my eye level. I also ordered these for the rear seats which are very comfortable for the passengers. Photo attached.

When we travel with our Lab, my wife sits in back with her to keep her company. These cushions would make it more comfortable for both of them.
