This is to the good: The guy who has been my safety pilot for a couple of years uses FlyQ on his iPad when acting as such. This co-opts the Stratus 3 ForeFlight mode which goes to “Open ADS-B” (aka GDL90) mode. This has heretofore meant that I didn’t get traffic on my iPad but he does. Today we were out doing approaches. Without fanfare, some update along the way causes FF to display traffic (perhaps other stuff it didn’t) when in this mode
This condition really hadn’t given me heartburn in the scenario of simulated IFR, as he is primarily responsible for traffic anyway. I don’t know if the behavior compromised GPS position from the Stratus, as that is secondary to the GNS530W -> FS210 feed. But it’s good to know that in other scenarios where this EFB mix might exist I’ll now be getting traffic.
