As always thanks for your perspective on this issue as well as your knowledge of the Austro and Diamond.

I would certainly agree that if one is doing a missed approach and particularly a single engine climb, then its "balls to the wall" for sure. And that would be the same in the airline world too (firewall!).

Regarding single engine on the DA62, yes, one has to be on their game to eek out of decent climb, although the climb performance is good but not great. In the airline world and simulator training, often the engine failures at V1 are done at max gross weight such that one has to carefully handle the aircraft to eek out a decent climb as well and struggle to 400 ft where acceleration and clean up begin. It is true, however, that at reduced weights the airliners have power to spare.
