I see you have radar. Did you get the GWX 70 or 75? Did you hear anything from them about the Phase 3 software on the NXi?
They're still installing the older radar. No news on Phase 3. Beringer wheels/brakes are *almost* ready for prime time.

Does that mean your plane did not come with Beringer brakes?

Correct: no Beringers.

I saw over on COPA that there is a new add-on for Beringer wheels and brakes that will transmit tire pressures to a phone app. Wish I had that on my turboprop ... will be interesting to see if that shows up once the Beringers are approved for the 62. I had Beringers on my Tecnam LSA and liked them a lot.

On the Cirrus that's indeed very useful, because it's a royal pain in the ass to check tire pressure there. On the DA62 it should be quite simple check pressure, right?

There was some system that was certified for that last year and I checked the price. It was something completely absurd like $8,000. I mean, I'm sure it was more than $4,000. Just crazy. I'm not sure how even a commercial operation could justify it.

Not quite. For each of mains you have to remove 3 screws to remove the carbon-fiber "hub cap" to get to the valve stem. (The hub cap is needed to smooth airflow when the gear is retracted, since the main wheel/tire is exposed to airflow under the wing.)

And inevitably you can't get even a short screw driver on one of the 3 screws due to lack of clearance with the gear door -- so you have to push or pull the plane back a few inches to make the screw accessible. It's almost as much hassle as checking air pressure on a DA40NG with wheel pants. :)

Nothing we tried and nothing that several Austro mechanics suggested would make them go away, though the ECU A failure did clear briefly after a full-power runup. I spent the day on the phone, running down to Arapahoe Aero (in my A36, ironically) to pick up their lead Diamond tech and bring him back to EIK to download engine data, and running him back down again.

There is no consensus among the Austro experts who’ve examined the data as to what the exact issue is, but we do have a couple of leading candidates. I imagine that a game plan will take shape on Monday and parts will begin to flow this way.
UPDATE: A new manifold pressure sensor is en route overnight from Diamond Canada to the local service center. Once it’s here the chances are 50/50 that we replace the defective one (there are two per engine) on the first try. ;)

So picked it up yesterday from Wiener Neustadt - would post a photo but can’t seem to from my phone at least. Looking forward to getting it registered and in the sky :)
