engine overhaul work is difficult. What do you think?

Post by cjuftc »

I am a DA40ng user.
I'm trying to overhaul the engine.
Engine overhaul lead time too long
You have to spend a lot of money to buy a new engine
This is a serious situation right now, I am very dissatisfied
What do you think?

Diamond has announced that overhauls are a very low priority and pricing for new engines will be announced. What price were you quoted?

I personally think it's pretty outrageous and undercuts the whole concept of the iron block Austro engine which was supposed to enable overhauls versus the aluminum block Thielert / CDI engines which are much lighter but needed to be replaced. Now we have a heavier engine which must be replaced. But that is where we find ourselves in 2022.

I suggest you direct your dissatisfaction to Luca Giaquinta (l.giaquinta@diamondaircraft.com) who is in charge of after sales support in Europe.

Good luck and please let us know the outcome.
