Garmin Marq Aviator Watch

Post by deeohgee »

Morning, I have a question of how a Garmin Marq Aviator watch fits into your flying? I was given one as a present but I'm trying to figure out where and when I would use it.

Currently, I have:
- G1000 Nxi
- iPad using ForeFlight for flying/planning/logbook
- iPad using Garmin Pilot for database updates to the G1000

I see the watch can track a flight but I'm not sure how to get that data out of the watch for anything useful.

I would be very interested to see how people use this watch with their flying so I can make use of this gift!

I have the MARQ Aviator and really dont tend to connect it to the avionics. I like having a reasonable SP02 monitor for oxygenation, but it usually just creates other pilots to ask what I fly :-). I guess I COULD navigate with it if my eyes were better 🤣

I have the Garmin D2 Air. I love it for the local METAR and fiddling with the altimeter and HSI — and as a conversation starter — but it is just a distraction in the air so far for me. Maybe someone else has a better idea?

I use the Garmin D2 Delta PX which is truly amazing.

Amongst many other useful features, in addition to providing real time GPS Flight Information, you can also set reminders such as fuel and O2 checks, find nearest airport using the Garmin database updated monthly, as well as record the entire flight.

Above all, this watch provides an independent backup should your onboard systems fail.

Totally satisfied with the usual Garmin quality providing peace of mind.
