G1000 nxi pc trainer

Post by marioair »

I know there's no DA version of this, but does anyone know where to get any of the NXI versions of the Garmin Trainer for shipping to the UK> The garmin website only has them on the US site and there;s not option to ship to the US (which in itself is ridiculous as it's software!)

A cheap solution to consider and definitely not 100% but Google ‘Working Title G1000 video’ on YouTube and see if you think it might be good enough. It’s a new package being released next month for MSFS. You can go all out and buy the Avionics bezels from Aviatek (best) or RealSimGear (cheaper) to have real fun!

Thanks but not quite sure that’s a cheaper solution!

In general I’ve found the latest MSFS absolutely awful for IFR. I use xplane and the Alabeo DA62 which is not bad, though the xplane g1000 is basic.

The reason I want the Nxi is mainly for learning the “buttonology” rather than simming.

I asked Garmin and this is what I got in reply.

The part number you want is for the Piper Archer v 20.81: 010-12675-14
https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/70232 ... 0-12675-14

If you haven't seen this already here's a PIREP on the PC Trainer.

Dear Paul,

Apologies, not all products are available to purchase directly on our UK website. However your friend will be able to order one through one of our Aviation dealers. He can locate them at the link below:

https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/dealerlocator/

In the UK we have Mendellsohn Pilot Supplies and Adams Aviation amongst others:

https://www.gps.co.uk/
https://www.adamsaviation.com/

The relevant part numbers are 010-12675-12 for the M350 trainer and 010-12675-13 for the M500

Best Regards,
Andrew

What matters is the GDU version emulated by the trainer and the Piper Archer is the (v20.81) closest match to current Diamond Aircraft (my 2019 DA40NG has 20.80). Perhaps there are others that habe been updated.

The engine gauges don't match, but that's no especially meaningful for the primary use for the trainer.

Another frustration I've had with the Garmin PC Trainer is that it won't run on a my gaming pc with modern graphics cards. My home sim machine just wont work... garmin recommended I buy a cheap $100 intel stick video but I've just ended up using an old surface pro and it worked just fine. Still very frustrating.

This one has dual 3090s. There are specs on the “my rig” section below the nxi trainer. But this is a way overpowered computer for this application.

When I spoke with Garmin support, they suggested the Cessna NAV III trainer. This was as of Nov 2020.
