Golden Hour on the Continental Divide

I am a long-time aerial photography enthusiast. Whatever else that may be wonderful about the DA62 (and there is plenty to love), it makes a sub-par photo platform for air-to-ground work: the engines, props and wings are in the way and the front windscreen is optically a nightmare.
To scratch that itch, I bought a GoPro MAX 360° video camera and arranged to mount it outside the cockpit. Here’s one of my more successful efforts, so far, which AVWeb published last week in their “Best of the Web” series.

Wow! Good thing you have two engines - not many emergency landing fields out there....

Here's a video I shot last Saturday over Colorado's Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. The wind was blowing 50 knots at 15,000', so I didn't feel that it was a good idea dropping down any lower.

You didn't happen to have Jessica Ambats in the Bonanza with the door off, did you? Her work is amazing.

I know JessicaA, but this time it was JuliaA shooting from the A36. She does great work, too.

Drift down to FL130 with one engine and 14,000 peaks would gives me a moment's pause.

What altitude did you film that at?

Yeah, but that's at max gross weight, and it shouldn't be hard to find an escape path at 13,000 feet that avoids peaks. Just be glad you're not flying a Beech Baron that drifts down to 6000 feet on one engine.
