Hello,

I’m now under the plane and I’m very happy because I found 2 things !
1/ the connection of the 3 wires (F2/ground from the VR and the shield of the (+)) are connected together yes, but to the engine, not the alternator. BUT, I when I removed the numerous plastic tirap to clean the oily area this connection (3 wires) stayed between my fingers! I think that here was the problem ! Additionally the wire was not natural but with tin solder and black because of oxidation!
2/ other issue the F1 wire is worn to the metallic cables inside... touching the alternator case.

I will not be able to test shortly because the voltage regulator is at Lamar, but I’m really happy!!

Arnaud.

Arnaud:

One (or both) of those issues could definitely be the problem. Good detective work! I'm hoping that will now be an easy fix for you.

Hello,

I finally was able to run the engine because my magnetos are back from inspection. And my charge issue is solved!
The guilty was the ground wire with its bad connexion...
No more noise in the headset neither.

The tension is 28.2 steady now. It was 28.4 before all these issues but I think that they turn the screw to adjust the output when the voltage regulator was at Lamar fir inspection.
