What is the cost to overhaul the MT prop on the DA42? I heard someone say that the overhaul was only available in Germany.
What is the price new?

Re: DA42 prop overhaul
I paid €17k for two Scimitar props (MT kept old blades) including rebuilding TKS installation when I was replacing engines.

Re: DA42 prop overhaul
That seems like a great upgrade. I'll be looking to do the same when it comes time to replace the engines.

Re: DA42 prop overhaul
I have a recent quote for 4.500€ (w/o VAT) to overhaul one prop..... (not including the Accu, which has a different timing)

Bumping this thread. Our plane is in the shop and some suspected delamination was found on one blade.
OH price was $7500 per side at American Propeller. Does that sound right? For reference: these are 3-blade scimitars on a -VI. 1300 hours on them, 6 years old.

Re: DA42 prop overhaul
Based on my experience, this price is in the ballpark. But they're also astonishingly expensive to ship. Typical round-trip price for a single 3-blade prop was about $1,300.neema wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 5:27 pm Bumping this thread. Re: DA42 prop overhaul
OH by itself is something like $5500. Replacing a leading edge is close to $1000 IIRC. I can’t remember the price of rewrapping the blade itself but you’re probably not far off.neema wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 5:27 pm Bumping this thread.
