I've been weighing eventual replacement of my AI with, among other things, a Garmin G5. This prompted a sequence of thoughts which culminated in the realization that suddenly I would have 2 altimeters and presumably both would be subject to the requirements of this rule, which states, in part:

Within the preceding 24 calendar months, each static pressure system, each altimeter instrument, and each automatic pressure altitude reporting system has been tested and inspected and found to comply with appendices E and F of part 43 of this chapter;

Of course most of those on the forum already have two (maybe more) such altimeters. So just curious: Do you get charged extra for testing extra altimeters? It wouldn't seem to require more or different equipment to test, and both could be done simultaneously. But I know the results of each test point get recorded.

I was always charged extra, not full price but more.
