Troubleshooting an Oil Temp Indicator X-out on the G1000 in my '40. It X-ed out, MX checked for loose connections, none found. Worked normally on the next flight, then X-ed out on a subsequent flight. We replaced the oil sensor, flew one flight without issue, and then the second flight this weekend it X-ed out 1.5 hours in. Escalating to Savvy for assistance. Will report back on the resolution. Any others experience this issue?
We've had some exceptionally rainy / humid months, connector crud is one theory.

Re: Oil Temp Indicator X-out
The oil temp on the DA40/G1000 is a linear analog sensor that varies resistance with temperature so I would think if it's crud your temp may read off or fluctuate but not be X'd. The GEA71 may be smart enough to know that the range should be between a set of values but I'm not sure. My bet is on a short between the white and blue wires of 77003A22 or to ground or an open. Possibly the GEA itself? You cold simulate the sensor by applying resistance across the oil temp sensor connector to rule out the GEA.

Re: Oil Temp Indicator X-out
My guess is an intermittent crimp or connector somewhere in the line from oil temp sensor to the GEA. I had similar behaviour with AHRS connection, found by pulling the crimps.

Yep it sure could be, that would be like the "open" scenario I was referring too.
