Diamond seats
Hello,
I recently purchased a DA20 project plane and would like to upgrade the sheepskin seats to the leather ones with folding headrests.
I have been told I will have to change the fiberglass shells as well ,does anyone know someone who may have an aircraft breaking for parts ? condition not really that important as I may have the leather redone anyway,I have tried several well know salvage yards with no luck .
Please advise
Thanks.
Andrew.

Re: Diamond seats
There was a guy in El Cajon California that was selling a DA20 for parts. Check Barnstormers.

Re: Diamond seats
There is a Katana for sale at CSM3. The aircraft was damaged in a hard landing if I recall correctly. Someone bought the damaged aircraft and repaired it by putting an engine from a Cessna in it (Continental O-200 I think) among other outrageous things. It is still flying today but I doubt it will ever be airworthy again. It was up for sale last year with an asking price of $15k. I saw it there last week so it's probably still available.

Re: Diamond seats
hi charles, good timing, i juste came to see this aircraft to buy it, but sadly, its a registered us aircraft, no logbook or history, they cant put a Canadian registration on it, aircraft receive to many major modification, they put a c-90 engine on it with literaly no compression, can turn the prop with one finger, they paint the wing with latex paint. firewall hole, long aircraft modification. cable rudder almost snap, they cut the cowling, engine mount as been cut and rewelded very bad...... sadly this aircraft is just not economical to put it back in flying status they are done....

Re: Diamond seats
I might PM you at some point to get their contact info...
About the CSM3 Katana, I agree that it will probably never be airworthy, however it's a nice heap of spare parts...
