Switching to Dual Cue FD in G1000
I have been looking for the option in G1000 to switch from single cue to dual cue FD. A lot of people online talking about switching between the 2, but I can't find it on our G1000.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

Found online - haven't checked my actual (Legacy) G1000 in the aircraft :
>Select AUX - System Setup Page on the MFD
>Activate the cursor then select > Format Active in the Flight Director Box (bottom of page)
>Use small FMS knob to select either "Single Cue" or "X-Pointer".

I'm not at the plane now either. I think I was on that page this weekend, and it was either not selectable or it didn't change anything.
I will check again when I get home. Maybe the x-pointer name threw me off.
Thanks
Jim

Be sure to get lots of practice with the duel cue. Once you learn it you won't want to go back.

Dual cue is not selectable on the 62. Pity because I think it is better.

Re: Switching to Dual Cue FD in G1000
Thanks for all the responses. I use dual cue daily and it has become my preference. The single cue is simpler for newer pilots to understand and use. The dual cue on a Boeing tells you more, not simply pitch up and pitch down. I think of it more as a "trend". The longer you go with the needles not centered, the more correction it is going to take and the longer it will take to get the needles centered again. If that makes any sense.
Maybe NXI phase 3 with offer this as an option.
Thanks

I no longer have my 2007 DA40XL but if I remember correctly the option was grayed out and not selectable.

Re: Switching to Dual Cue FD in G1000
Is dual cue a feature, like 3D audio, that can be enabled in the G1000NXi setup?

Re: Switching to Dual Cue FD in G1000
That's exactly what I was thinking. I think there's a high probability that the option might be enabled in G1000 configuration/maintenance mode somewhere.
FWIW, our Epic G1000 NXi (with software equivalent to Diamond's NXI Phase III) has a pilot option enabled for selecting dual cue, referred to by Garmin as Cross Pointer (X-Pointer). The first demo flight I took in an Epic had dual cue enabled, but I hated it because I wasn't used to it -- so I still use the same single cue as in all Diamonds. Perhaps I'll try dual cue again on one of the rare flights when I'm not flying IFR.

I confirmed this option is not selectable in the DA40NG with G1000 NXI Phase II.
