I'm also present 100% of the time for refueling, in the hangar or while traveling. Once an FBO sent a Jet A truck to me thinking I had an NG. I've learned to be very specific and repeat the words avgas and 100LL at least a couple of times on the phone. Several times I've seen line guys hang the heavy nozzle and hose from the gas opening on other aircraft which can easily damage it. Or overflow and spill gas everywhere. I will usually call the FBO 5-10 minutes before I arrive so most of the time the truck pulls up while I am preflighting the aircraft. I still keep a very watchful eye on them. Only on the rare occasion that they're backed up does it cost me any additional wait time before takeoff. But the downside is so high if a lazy line guy doesn't do it correctly.
