G1000 question
Trying to up my G1000 game in the DA-40. I can't seem to find how to turn on/off the boxes that appear on the PFD that display the altitude/course envelope for your currently programmed route. These are the series of boxes that appear in the PFD. Depending on the pilot profile, sometimes they are there, and sometimes they are not (rental plane). I found an image online for a different aircraft's G1000 but you can see the purple boxes.

Re: G1000 question
Also note that Synthetic Vision (SVT) is an option that must be purchased and installed, so you aren't going to find it in all Diamonds. Only one of the DA40's at our local flight school has SVT installed.

Re: G1000 question
SVT looks like a valuable option to have.
At the time I bought my DA40NG, I didn't choose for this option.
Has anyone on this forum recently enabled SVT on the G1000 NXi of a DA40NG?
The price would obviously be the main concern.
I can't find much info on this online.
Thank you!

Re: G1000 question
It was $10,000 (USD) when I bought it in 2007.

Re: G1000 question
So in other words, the more you pay for the equipment, the more Garmin asks for unlocking the SVT software.
Thanks for the info!

Re: G1000 question
While I have SVT in my XLS, I could just as easily refer to the synthetic vision on Foreflight. I'm never doing anything close enough to obstacles or terrain that I couldn't just as easily look down to double-check clearance on the iPad. Still, I'm glad I have it.
