Transition training included in sale price

Post by Zebedee »

What have you guys seen as far as transition training included in price.

There has been some discussions in other threads but nothing definitive.

Diamond Canada say they don't " include" it and dealers that "provide" training. But providing and paying for training might be 2 different things.

TIA

It depends on the Diamond distributor from which you purchase your new airplane. The distributor I work with includes transition training at no additional cost for all new aircraft, since we want the new owner to be safe and feel comfortable flying their new aircraft. (I'm often the pilot providing both ground school and flight transition training for my new aircraft customers.)

Interesting because the distributor through whom I purchased my DA62 specifically states that their delivery and training is valued "in excess of $6,000", but it is not fungible. The buyer cannot decline the delivery and training and take a $6,000 credit on the purchase. It's odd that there is considerable variation between the terms offered by the distributors, yet they have exclusive territories so as buyers, we have no ability to select a distributor based on the offered terms. For Diamond buyers, geography is destiny.
