Yellow X on the Load
I have been seeing an occasional yellow X over the load meter... .it would appear... for a few seconds... then disappear then come back after a while and flash a few times.
It has been driving me crazy.
It turns out that it was fixed by a firmware upgrade done during the Annual.

Re: Yellow X on the Load
What firmware was updated? EECU? G1000?

Re: Yellow X on the Load
Sorry, but now I'm confused. What firmware was updated, and did it resolve the problem? I am working with someone who is having this problem and I believe they just had the EECU firmware updated but it did not resolve the yellow X. If you resolved the problem, can you please elaborate on what firmware was updated and ideally what version it was updated from/to. Thank you so much.

Re: Yellow X on the Load
Thank you for responding. I really just want to know if the problem was resolved. Alan wrote that the problem was fixed during the annual, but later said "which I was hoping would fix it" and then ended with just the word "G1000nxi". I am helping a friend with this exact problem and was trying to see if the firmware which was applied during Alan's annual resolved the problem. The EECUs are not reporting any abnormalities, yet every so often, the load indicator puts up a yellow "X" and then immediately resolves. No ECU failures occur, and nothing is in the ECU data. The only anomaly I can find is in the G1000 data log where the load was consistently the same value for a long stretch of time, then there was a single row where the load dipped one percent down which was exactly at the moment when the yellow X occurred. The fact that there was no errors noted in the EECU logs is curious and makes me wonder if the G1000 is interpreting something wrong. Anyway, I think they just updated the EECU firmware in the plane but it didn't resolve the issue.

I thought that it was fixed but no
The latest firmware did not fix it
You can see that I thought that it did … but no

Re: Yellow X on the Load
And it is annoying as anything
I can post a video if anyone else feels like being annoyed
The only good airplane news I have is a new coolant level sensor seems to have fixed that intermittent problem

Re: Yellow X on the Load
I have seen it happen - it's the kind of crazy thing that makes me insane. Alan, next time it happens, can you note the time as close as possible, then take a look at the G1000 data log and see if anything looks suspicious? As I mentioned, at the time it happened, I noticed a single row where the %load (or maybe the RPM) dipped by a single digit. It made me wonder what condition is necessary for the yellow X. If your data also has one row that is unlike the hundred or so surrounding it, maybe that's a clue.

Here is an image of the section which shows a 0.01 (1%) drop in load: https://app.screencast.com/gdo17wb3eVrpi
