Ah, I see the nuance. FF apparently does this for filed flight plans, not hypothetical.

That flight is tomorrow and not yet filed. Note for the weather it is using the MOS forecast as of 301100Z.

Re: Density altitude app
I have a flight queued up to Pocatello. Here's the other nuance: It would not calculate this information for me until I entered a departure runway. Then it did calculate the expected parameters. Thanks.

Re: Density altitude app
As I poked around Flight Pad I noticed considerable differences in the screens Adam posted from what Flight Pad displays. W&B envelope and non-display of the performance graph overlays being obvious. Lo and behold it looks like Adam has a custom derivative specifically for the DA40-180 called "Performance Pad - DA40-180". This is also sitting out there on the app store as a separate product

Re: Density altitude app
Here's my take on Flight Pad (not Performance Pad, referenced in prior post):
- Overall a useful tool for running scenarios outside of an actually imminent flight, as one enters the hypothetical atmospheric conditions, whereas FF will use current/forecast weather for the flight. If you're looking at a flight a month from now (or maybe never) FP is a bit handier.
- I had a heck of a time getting it to work initially. It kept crashing. One has to "Log Out" after setting it up and log back in.
- There's a reference in the "Climb" panel to setting "Climb Start" in the Takeoff panel. I can find no such place to do so. This leaves the Climb section with the climb start magically listed as 4.5 minutes. I guess this is delay from engine start, but who knows? And the "fuel used" entries and total don't seem to make sense. Inquiries to Gyronimo on the subject have gone unanswered.
- Even though I entered "Standard Tank" rather than "Long Range", the flight envelope only displays the long range rear limit of 100.4" rather than the 102" for standard tank.
- Max cruise altitude limited to 12,000 ft.
- Does not recognize entering numbers from iPad "Magic" keyboard, though other keyboard responses seem OK (sliders, e.g.)
- Recognizes decreasing climb performance based on altitude. Presumably assumes standard lapse rate for atmospheric pressure and temperature.
- Keeps reverting back to book numbers for cruise speed/fuel consumption rather than the override entries applicable to my plane.

Rich, thanks for the thorough review. I won't waste my time on it. Also Geronimo is not available on Garmin Pilot.
