Why does the TC being in Austria make them inherently behind? Is Transport Canada and/or the FAA reluctant to accept the EASA certification? Or is this just a DAI bureaucracy issue being behind the curve in seeking Transport Canada / FAA approval?

I said that the DA42 TC being in Austria makes its G1000 NXi AHEAD of the DA62 with its TC in Canada. I'm not sure why Diamond Canada has had so much difficulty getting certification approvals by Transport Canada.

Re: Flightstream 510
Based on the stories about the certification process delays for the NXi Phase II for the DA40NG, I believe that Transport Canada is a significant contributor to the certification delays. They were moving the goalposts, and it took a 3-way meeting among Diamond, Garmin, and TC to align on reasonable certification requirements. TC appears to be extremely conservative because It's "on them" to make the call "for the world" for DA40NG and DA62 certifications now that the TCs are owned by Diamond Canada. The Boeing MCAS software situation has certainly not helped.
I'm looking forward to hearing that the two certifications pending for the DA62 have been granted. Unfortunately, the "any week now" sounds too familiar to what was happening a year ago on the DA40NG Phase II program.

Re: Flightstream 510
If you read exactly, the certifications for the DA62 have not been granted, just „requested“. So don’t hold your breath yet...

Genau! And I'm looking forward to a positive outcome to Diamond's request to TC, hopefully, sooner and not later!
