Re: G1000 WAAS upgrade
We own a legacy non-WAAS Da-40 (w KAP-140). Just out of curiosity, what was the approximate price tag for the WAAS upgrade? Was it just installing a pair of GIA63Ws? That would seem relatively simple.

Re: G1000 WAAS upgrade
I paid about $16k for the WAAS upgrade. I think it was over $20k last time someone mentioned it. But I don't think you can do it anymore.

Re: G1000 WAAS upgrade
I know for the G1000 planes, WAAS upgrades are no longer generally available. Garmin does not sell the parts, they are keeping what inventory they have left to support the existing fleet was the impression I was left with. Garmin actually announced this a couple years ago to the OEMs.Colin wrote:I paid about $16k for the WAAS upgrade. I think it was over $20k last time someone mentioned it. There was a shop in England who was selling the complete kit/install for some crazy number like 50,000 Euro when I started this thread. I no longer have the notes, since I decided against a G1000 non-waas plane.
