Has anybody ever replaced the rubber joint which covers the gap between the wing and the body?

I did. It's a son-of-a-b***h to do
Got replacement from Diamond
If you want, I can look up exactly how many meters I bought. It was pretty much right on and I can do that on Tuesday.
Besides that all you need is some clear silicon-like looking crap for the ends and a bit of grease to help you along.
Also I could take a picture of a piece and you could try to source some from http://www.mcmaster.com/

It seems that rotten rubber joints are a FP-problem

Re: Replacement of rubber t-profile connecting wing and hull
We replaced them and the new ones kept coming off on the underside despite a few attempts to glue them in place. My mechanic suggested we remove them altogether and simply put sailplane tape over the gap. Not sure it's entirely legal but it's been like that for about a year now, and it looks a lot better than the rubber seal.

Had both sides replaced a few years ago during the annual, and the shop charged us $700!

Re: Replacement of rubber t-profile connecting wing and hull
I replaced the wing root seals on our '04 back in 2010 during the annual. Looking at the invoice, the shop charged me $94.50 for the new seals (part number 1110762), and I did the work, so no labor charge. I'm sure they ordered the new T-seals from Diamond.

The best stuff I found until now is probably on http://www.wingsandwheels.com/page28.htm
Could that work?

Re: Replacement of rubber t-profile connecting wing and hull
For $94.95 it´s not really worth looking for alternative sources. But I also quite like the idea of using the sailplane tape. I am quite sure it looks even better and wrings out another 0.25 kts,Rick wrote:I replaced the wing root seals on our '04 back in 2010 during the annual.
