PlaneSync

Post by janders »

Has anyone looked into adding PlaneSync to their G1000 NXi system? I wonder if this would work with a DA62.

https://www.garmin.com/en-US/planesync/

On the compatibility page they mention:

Code: Select all

PlaneSync technology is compatible with select Garmin integrated flight decks.
Availability varies by aircraft. Please contact the aircraft manufacturer or avionics
certification holder for more information.

For certified aircraft, essentially every avionics change must come from the manufacturer. There are a very limited number of STCs out there for Diamond's, and a few owners have been able to make changes via a FSDO approved 337, but they are rare.

Since Diamond has been working on certification of Phase III for five years, it seems unlikely they have certified PlaneSync.
