Hi Folks
Had to replace the flap motor device on my 2006 42. Was told by the maintenance guys it was the motor but took it apart and in fact it was the gear mechanism that had worn down and was jamming the motor. Know the passengers had inadvertently put down flaps during cruise but will now subtract 10 kts for extension speeds.

Re: Flap motor
The flap actuator assembly is not a cheap item. I was able to get one off eBay pretty inexpensively, from a DA40 that was parted out after an accident, which I keep as a spare.
