Stick limiter replacement
Just ordered a new stick limiter for my airplane. Only a 6 week wait and a minor sum of just under $3000.00.
Part number for a T.D.Y. aircraft is I M D 3-24-30-A-50.

Re: Stick limiter replacement
An engineering solution I have always seen as a hack to begin with. Nice to hear that it is priced accordingly.

Re: Stick limiter replacement
Has anyone removed the stick limiter and not replace it? The 42 NG and VI have a path for total removal. Supplement S-08 revision 2014-04-01.

Re: Stick limiter replacement
The stick limiter is under the pilots seat. It controls the travel of the elevators when you add power with full flaps on a go around. You check it on preflight ( don’t you?). This is to prevent the pilot from over rotating on a go around.

Re: Stick limiter replacement
I know of Bonanza models that could use this. Full-power, gear and flaps down stalls are truly memorable.

Re: Stick limiter replacement
Thanks for the explanation. I can't find any reference to it in the DA40 AFM or AMM.

Re: Stick limiter replacement
I have had a similar issue that the stick limiter was not working anymore. Since this part is not available anymore (from Diamond) you need to modify the mounting for a new design which results in a lot of work and money. The alternative is to organize a spare motor from the company Varimax AG in Switzerland (which is the manufacture of the "old" design). The mechanical part is never the problem - it is the motor which you can replace easily. Including shipping I paid 60$ for it - problem solved.
