Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe!

Considering purchasing used DA-42 and question came up around Chapter 5 life limit items. Are they mandatory or recommendations per the FAA?

Any recommendations on shop/mechanic located in the Midwest (Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana) to do a Pre-buy?

FAA Chapter 5 is only the manufacturer’s recommendations whereas Chapter 4 is mandatory.
