Cheap, light weight and apparently effective.
Hi Karl -
Do you know any more info on the product your friend is using? If so, please let me know - I'm looking to do the same thing for our DA62.
Thanks!!
Hi, My friend is actually the Diamond dealer for Asia, based in Bangkok.
I have attached pictures he sent me of the product Sunshield, one of them states 1cm but looking at the other pictures I suspect 5mm/1/4 is more likely the correct thickness.

We did this for our DA42. Bought the double sided reflective insulation from Lowes for about $15. Cut it to fit the windows. Used Velcro on the insulation to keep the insulation up on the rear and front side windows. The front window didn't need the Velcro for the insulation to stay up. This worked like a charm whenever we needed to keep the plane on a ramp tie down (rather than in a hangar).

Alright I ordered 4 yards of the above one and cut out three pieces for the windows. Cutting is very easy, measuring to know where to cut no so much - but with a little bit of tenacity you'll get there. Definitely worth the effort, keeps heat and UV rays out.
