I get exhaust smell coming into the cabin when power settings are reduced to ~10% or less. Seems like the exhaust swirls into the fresh air inlet from the RH engine (somehow). I should pay attention to see if airspeed plays into it.
Solution? come in hot! Seriously though, it's a nuisance. A few airports on the CA coast (think runways 15 L and R into SBA) have slam dunk descents to get into the preferred runway. I like exercising the abilities of the 42 and gladly accept the challenge. Usually ends up being throttles completely closed on the way in and stinky cabin is part of the package.
This is a on 42-VI

Re: Exhaust Fumes
Hi Neema:
I think you are correct. I think in certain conditions if there is any kind of fuel dripping, it can get into the cabin air intake. Still a design flaw.
Thanks
Perry

Re: Exhaust Fumes
Hello All:
An update on this issue. At the 100 hr. inspection they figured that the leakage from the quick drains have drained in to the lower part of the engine nacelles and from there pulled into the cabin through the cabin heat intake suction port.
Take care

Re: Exhaust Fumes
That's a good piece of data to have. It fits with the fuel smell I get when I put on the cabin heat (which usually goes away after a while). Thanks for the update.
