How about NZAA NFFN NCRG NTAA NTGJ SCIP SCIR?
Longest leg is the last one with 1.619 NM.

Love this Wolfgang! Congratulations and thanks for sharing. What is your plan while in South America. How do you plan to get back?

Re: First non-commercial Crossing South Atlantic solo in a DA42
Thank for your comments! I am long back in Nassau now, flew the plane first down to Sao Paulo, and then up via SBUL SBAA SBMQ SOCA TLPL MDCY MYNN, have flown 6 times to Brazil and back to Bahamas.
Now, the South Pacific crossing: SCFX and SCIR have no fuel, SCFX is military only, and SCIR has a treacherous approach, often downdrafts and low clouds. Read a report of a sinlge engine who after 14 hours from SCIP had to abort SCIR. My bet is SCLP, 1925nm from SCIP. If weather good, could try SCIR, but have to carry fuel to get me to mainland. Well, still time to plan ...

Interesting trip and a great video. Thanks for sharing!
This one looks interesting to me. Can I ask you, if you build the antenna solution yourself or did you buy it/had it build somewhere?wolfvoador wrote: HF radio (30 ft antenna out the window)

Hi Wolfgang!
AC-U-KWIK says for SCFX that Jetfuel is available and airport type is civil => http://acukwik.com/Airport-Info/scfx
But it's VFR only. The runway is nice and long.
Also the English Wikipedia says that it is public use.
There is no customs, but you do the entry in SCIP.
But since these are the unfortunate islands it's probably a good idea to avoid them.

Re: First non-commercial Crossing South Atlantic solo in a DA42
Thanks, Robert, and I will check that, would be great to cut out over 300nm from that crossing!
Peter, the antenna solution was custom built by Southtec in Salisbury, NC. Basically a spare small window with a sturdy tube welded to it, through which the antenna cable can be deployed, with the help of a small crank, I think it is visible on the video.

Peter: If you go back to my DA42 Atlantic ferry flight thread, you'll see photos and explanation of the very similar HF antenna configuration created by Diamond's ferry pilot:

Yes, Dave, we copied basically the design we had seen on your thread! Thanks for having made that public, and Happy New Year to all.
