TKS is a de-icing fluid composed of ethylene glycol, isopropyl alcohol and distilled water.
Specification DTD.406B requires the product to have the following approximate composition:
Ethanediol (BS.2537) 85% volume
Isopropanol (BS.1595) 5% volume
Distilled water 10% volume
If you buy the components in drums then the price is approx. € 1,35 per liter or € 5.20 per USG.
In the original drums it is extremely pure and clean.

The problem with drums is place to store it. Usually airport authorities are not quite happy with storing potentially flamable liquids, so you have to brew it somewhere else and bring it in cans to fill the aircraft.

HI David
I saw your DA42 there last Christmas when we were there and dreamed of owning one. Wish come true this year. My brother in law lives in Crosswicks so were visiting. 5 airports and 650nm for the holidays and only 55 gallons of fuel. This is an awesome cross country machine. I made it from Newport RI to Bar Harbor Maine faster than my wife could drive from Newport to Boston today.
Robbinsville is a nice little airport with very friendly folks. N16FA looks great too. Hope we can catch up when I'm down there again.

Feel free to call me 609-575-0416. The only thing N87 needs is jet a. The 42 is a great machine we do VRB Vero Beach on 75 gal on stop in NC at CPC. 6.5 hours with the stop. Enjoy your airplane. By the way it seems we now have a shop in NJ at South Jersey airport.
I am going to do the annual there this year.
Think about going to the Continental school in Mobil Al. You should also get the can cable, I got mine through Glenn Lawler. My direct email is cptndww@aol.com.

Colin, That would be BP Air; office 609 714 6800, cell 609 714 6801 ask for Billy O.
The shop is on South Jersey airport KVAY . He is going to start doing 172 conversions and works on the CAP airplanes. You can not miss his shop, he usually has about 50 CAP planes out front.

Great. I will add him to my rolodex for when I am on the east coast. I needed someone last time I was there and would have loved to have it be a short hop. (Did the fingers-crossed ferry flight to the factory instead. It was fine.)
