Powerflo Ceramic Coat

Post by perossichi »

Folks-

several people asked me what my ceramic-coated powerflo exhaust looks like. This is after about 300 hours.

You will notice some discoloration as the barrel enters the lower cowling opening.

I polished it with Flitz but was unable to remove the discoloration. The rest cleans up very nicely. I'm too lazy to remove exhaust the polish with buffing compound and a wheel.

It's a $150 factory option from Powerflow for that muffler shell.

Peter, you must get particularly upset when the fuel guys try to put the grounding clip on your muffler! I make a point to always be present during fueling, but even so, a few times a guy has run up and put it on the muffler before I could stop them. Very annoying, and even with the basic muffler, it usually puts a nice bend or dent in the edge.

Steve

You are right. But I am one of those compulsive folks who always supervises refueling to make I get 100LL and I attach the ground. I also note the fill in the left and right tank as well as the fuel gauge and fuel totalizer indications so that I can monitor accuracy.

I can usually get a minor scratch out with Flitz polish.

Power flow exhaust cleans up nicely, additionally I replaced the insert which evidently needs replacement every 250hrs or so.

Additionally the insert can be purchased directly from the power flow.

The screws need to be drilled out and are stainless steel

I never heard of a chrome and polish shop. Sounds like something from Amercan Graffiti.
