A few years back I bought a Pitts S2B that had sat in the hangar for 7 years. I did a compression check and basically got zero PSI on each cylinder. I staked the valves (gentle tap with wood) and they pumped up to acceptable. Changed the oil and flew it out. The airplane worked great for the duration I owned it. Oil analysis was good, nothing in the filter changes.

This engine sat un-flown for 7 years with no preservative measures. Maybe they don't make them like they used to but a little corrosion isn't the end of the world. You may not make it to TBO but maybe you will. Fly it and enjoy it till the engine tells you it's time.
