Re: Magneto Price
Slick Part numbers - you can price these from numerous sources:
Left: 4347
Right: 4370
My recollection is the 500 hr-refurbs ran me $500-$600 for both

Re: Magneto Price
Hans,
I have done both the 500 hour mag overhaul and purchasing new mags recently, (different airplanes).
The 500 hr overhaul is hundreds of dollars, while the new mags are thousands of dollars.

Re: Magneto Price
Thx guys...any “ traps” to watch out for...mine have been flawless but it is the 500hr suggested so it makes me nervous replacing something that works perfectly fine

Re: Magneto Price
In France we can decide to push certain lifetimes if they are not set as airworthiness limitation

Re: Magneto Price
Is there a good way to know when you should replace the mags? A sign or indication during inspection or use? Or do they just fail? Mine are coming up on 400 hours.

Re: Magneto Price
That could be said about 90% of aircraft maintenance. Why do an Annual if the plane is working fine? It’s supposed to be “preventative”.
My understanding is that the 500hr is not recommended. It is listed in the airworthiness limitations section of the IO-360-M1A manual (as well as a 1000hr exhaust valves inspection, which is probably overlooked even more often).
