For those asking about Canada, it is still an open question. The Nav Canada suggested mandate (no sooner than 2023 for aircraft below 12,500’) required diversity but too many operators objected. The Minister of Transport still has to approve. In October they apparently paused the implementation of ph 2 (12,500-18,000) and ph 3 (below 12,500).
Being Canadian, I am 100% confident that they will delay the ultimate decision for a long time, and then come up with an idiotic solution. So in January I am just going to install a 345R compliant with the US mandate. When the Canadian mandate comes, I’ll likely sell.

Re: Questions from ADS-B install procrastinator - TailBeacon?
I just had my GTX 345-R installed and finished up last week, Dec 17th. I also have the TAS-600. Total cost was $8300 USD. They also installed an internal antenna. So far, everything seems to be working properly. The work was done at my home base Garmin dealer at KTOA, 7 miles south of LAX. If anyone needs their name and number, then PM me.

FYI I was going to go with a Skybeacon on my 2004 non Wass DA40 . One shop said not can't be installed, then I noticed 4 DA40 on my field with them installed. Local shop did a 337 and trimmed the position light bezel looks nice and works great. Saved the $6000 bucks for a bunch of extra that will never get use of.

Do you have a picture of this? I saw a few with a custom position light and they looked horrendous.jeremywpb wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 4:37 am FYI I was going to go with a Skybeacon on my 2004 non Wass DA40 . I thought of doing this on my airplane, but my mechanic wasn't enthusiastic. Plus, then I would have had LEDs on the left side and the standard incandescent/strobe on the right...Davestation wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 2:06 pmDo you have a picture of this? I went with the GDL82, and just bought the Whelen LED strobes to install which will save me about 3.5 pounds of empty weight.
