Alternator Failure at 80 hours

Post by vontresc »

So we recently got our engine overhauled. So far so good, but 80 hours in we had the alternator go on us. It ended up grinding itself on the mounting bracket. It looks like that alternator bracket and alternator bushings got badly worn out in the first 80 hours since overhaul. We have gotten these replaced, but I am worried bout the root cause.
