Diamond DA40 pricing
New to the forum and GA in general. Trying to assess the price of a DA40, new or used. Searching here helped, but also created some confusion: some posts suggest the prices were lower three or four years ago.
Is there a good source/read about DA40 prices?

Re: Diamond DA40 pricing
I just bought mine less than a year ago. I was watching prices for two years. They were slowly creeping up for g1000/GFC700 models. They’ve seemed steady over the course of this year. Overall there has been low supply of used 2008+ DA40’s and a larger number of buyers waiting to find one.

Re: Diamond DA40 pricing
I just bought a 2004, G1000, 600hrs, descent shape, ADSB for 190.5K. The newer ones were way above the 200K mark. Tried to buy a steam gauge version but it just never worked out.. Those seemed to be priced in the 135-165K range, depending on engine hours

Re: Diamond DA40 pricing
DA40s are now appreciating assets.
Prices are up $20K-$40K since 2 years ago as demand exceeds supply of good used aircraft. With our list of interested buyers, most aircraft sell before ever being advertised publicly.
The biggest unmet demand is for 2008+ DA40 XLS models, now selling for more than $300K.

Re: Diamond DA40 pricing
I bought my 2008 XLS for $235K and sold it for $285k about 1.5 years ago. I take every opportunity I can to remind my wife of that!

Re: Diamond DA40 pricing
Following the great recession of 2008, there were very few new aircraft built and for a while there, it was questionable if Diamond could even stay afloat. So now there are very few used aircraft in the years mentioned above. When I purchased my 2010 XLS new, the factory did throw in some extra incentives to close the deal as they really needed sales. I doubt that they would do that today.CFIDave wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 2:52 pm DA40s are now appreciating assets.

Re: Diamond DA40 pricing
(Just to add to my above post but past editing time). I was considering ordering a 2020 Lycoming DA-40 model and was expecting some type announcement from Diamond at Oshkosh. That did not happen, so it looks like I will be holding on to my present 2010 DA-40 for awhile which means one less XLS on the used market. I am sure others are in the same boat as I.

Re: Diamond DA40 pricing
I have a 2005 and just completed a trip to Osh and New England. 27 hrs. of flying, average speed 130 kts. burned 8gph! If I sold, what could I possibly buy that would compete with that? Cirrus at 3 times the price, high maintenance cost not to mention more fuel burn? That's why there is one less DA40 on the market.

Re: Diamond DA40 pricing
Thanks everyone. Just to humor me, is there a pricing list available for new DA40s?
