Torque for spark plug

Post by astaib »

Hello,

Do you know where I can find the correct value for the torque of the spark plug on my Lyco IO360 M1A on my 2001 DA 40?

Thank you.

Arnaud.

Thank you, I found it too.

Is it better to remove when the engine is hot or cold or it doesn't mind?

I heard that I have to put a special paste in the thread when I put the spark plug again on the engine?
Is it right?

Mostly plugs are pulled for compression test, with engine at least somewhat warm and by the time they're cleaned and whatnot the engine is cold. Nobody I've worked with seems to care.

You need to CAREFULLY apply plug anti-seize compound to the threads for reinstalling. There is a bit of art to this so none gets into the cylinder and especially on the electrodes.
