EGT Fluctuations
DA40, G1000. Noticed that the #4 EGT bounces around. At ambient, it's about 30 degrees less than the others, but sometimes in flight it showed 870 degrees less than it's brothers. I'd like to try swapping it with another cylinder. Will I need a gasket or some other part to do the swap? I'd hate to mess up and ground the plane. Any advice appreciated.

Re: EGT Fluctuations
Mark: there are no gaskets on the EGT probes. They self-seal in a small hole in the exhaust riser. Just be careful handling them as they are fragile.

Re: EGT Fluctuations
That's what mine looked like after it failed. I replaced it and all is back to normal.
