OK, but maybe I will have to adjust it?

Maybe, but I did not. What you're looking for is if, hands-off, does the plane want to consistently bank one way or the other - enough to be a problem.

Re: Corked Nose Wheel
As I think I mentioned before in another thread on this topic, I would caution against removing trim tabs:
1) If you do, the aircraft no longer conforms to the Type Certificate (unless there is an STC for trim tab removal that I am unaware of), rendering the aircraft not airworthy.
2) By removing a control surface trim tab, you are affecting the balance of that surface (the effect may be trivial, or not - I'm not an aeronautical engineer), requiring a re-balance of the surface.
3) Trim tab removal is not on the list of preventive maintenance tasks an aircraft owner may legally perform, meaning you would have to get an A&P to sign off on it. I don't know of any that would be willing to risk his certificate for such a modification without approved data (STC or manufacturer's SB).
4) Having a missing trim tab (even if you put screws back in the empty holes) would be a Ramp Check magnet.
Just food for thought...

Re: Corked Nose Wheel
thanks Steve.
I will only bend it straight then (the rudder fin)

Re: Corked Nose Wheel
Anyone gotten anything recently from Bret? I sent him a PM a couple of days ago and haven't heard back, could be the holidays I guess.

Re: Corked Nose Wheel
Hi everyone! I did a flight last week and for the first time attached a gopro to the tiedown ring to get the footage (results found here, loud, battery died fast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FBuXsjqZec). During this flight I had to hold left rudder, when usually I have to hold a VERY gentle right rudder (just resting my foot on the pedal is enough, which works out as I need some place to rest my foot). I stumbled on this thread and apparently the random left rudder could be due to the corked nosewheel -- has anyone else experienced this much yaw effect due to a gopro? This is the first time that I've noticed this...

Re: Corked Nose Wheel
Before I added the Bret fin it was somewhat random whether I needed to correct with left or right rudder. Right was more common, but it wasn't consistent.
I've flown with a GoPro on the top of my left wing tip and on the top of the right horizontal stabilizer tip and both induced no or very little yaw.

Here are some videos of your actual plane (taken back in the days when video quality wasn't so good) showing the nose wheel decentered sometimes to the left and other times to the right. That determines which rudder pedal you have to hold, if any.
I doubt the drag from the GoPro on the wing would make that much difference.

Re: Corked Nose Wheel
Hah, that's awesome.
Sounds like that's what happened -- and also sounds like people getting a few kts with the bret fin. And also that it's not available anymore?

Re: Corked Nose Wheel
It's still available, I reached out recently to inquire. Send him a PM and he should get back to you fairly quickly.
