5-hour annual
A personal best. Three of us completed the Annual in 5 hours today. It was quick due to a couple of items normally done that I had taken care of beforehand, and the fact that no corrections were required.

Wow! That is fast. Mine now take about 30 man-hours. Some of that is routine maintenance, and I have an older airframe without the access panels in the seats, so my interior comes out every time. I use Diamond's maintenance checklist in the AMM.

My interior comes out also, but I’ve gotten pretty good at it. What also helps is this is a literal mom and pop shop who have now done my last 3 annuals and some work in between. So they know me and the plane well.

Have an annual coming up in September. Would this shop be interested in doing it? Is this S39 or Bend? Thank you in advance.

Prineville (S39). They might. Prineville Aviation: (541) 447-1118. Mine isn't the only DA40 they've worked on regularly. The other one recently sold and is now out of the area. I would call them right away if you want to do it in September. I know Eldon would be really happy if yours has the inspection panels in the rear seats. I assume you're wanting to do an owner-assisted?N172MZ wrote:Have an annual coming up in September. Would this shop be interested in doing it? Is this S39 or Bend? Thank you in advance.

Re: 5-hour annual
Great, thank you. Yes I am looking for owner assisted as I am mechanically inclined and want to get a better look at what the other 3 shops have been doing. Thanks again, I will look them up.

If you wind up flying down for this and need to stay overnight the night before or whatever, we can offer you a place to stay out our place South of town. There are numerous motels in town but they seem to often be pretty full with all the construction taking place right now.N172MZ wrote:Great, thank you. Re: 5-hour annual
That sounds about right. I get mine done at KVYS and its 3 people + me in about 5 hours. They have done my annual for the last 13 years. They do at least 4 da40 annuals a year.
