DA40 Air Vent

After the current (ammeter) sensor of my 2005 DA40 was replaced, the passenger side air vent was not connected properly. After this was fixed, I found the tension washer in the picture on the passenger side of the airplane floor.

Does anyone know where this washer is supposed to go?
