XM not showing temporary TFR's
Recently, my XM is not displaying any temporary TFR's, such as fire or presidential ones. Long standing ones, however, such as the Disneyland TFR still show, and can be clicked on with info displayed. My XM info page has TFR box checked as active, and the map does not have the "NO TFR" warning displayed. Any thoughts on what may be causing this, or if this is just a current XM system-wide glitch?

Anybody else notice this??? Or is it just an issue with my system.

Re: XM not showing temporary TFR's
I've not noticed this with SXM weather; TFRs tend to show up days in advance of their being activated.

Re: XM not showing temporary TFR's
they used to all show, well in advance (and stuck around for days too long). Just recently did this issue happen. I called XM, they said they would look into it. I never heard back, and have not been out flying again yet to see if it's still happening.

Re: XM not showing temporary TFR's
There was a three dayTFR over Long Beach, CA back around April 10th of this year for the Toyota Grand Prix. I was surprised to see that it did not show up on moving map either. I just figured someone was not doing their job at XM.

Re: XM not showing temporary TFR's
Thanks Don, I guess it's not just me. I used to rely heavily on the XM TFR info, but I suppose that should be reconsidered. I will check again next time I'm at my plane whether any of the fire TFR's are showing up again or not. While ForeFlight is great about the TFR's, if there is no cellular signal you are out of luck!

Re: XM not showing temporary TFR's
In my experience, TFR's get updated into FF via FIS-B. Last year's fire season is a good example, as TFR's changed shape during trips I was making.smoss wrote:Thanks Don, I guess it's not just me. Re: XM not showing temporary TFR's
I hate bumping old threads BUT I have the same issue in my 2007 DA42NG that I purchase last year. Everything but TFR data comes in just fine from the GDL69 but no TFR data no matter the map range changed on the MFD.
Was there ever a solution to get it working from 5 years ago?

2021) Service Advisory 21110 Rev B: GDL 69/69A SXM TFR Products
REVISION B:
Further Clarification
PRODUCTS AFFECTED:
GDL 69/69A SXM units with system software versions 5.10 and 5.20 subscribed to SiriusXM Pilot Express, Pilot Preferred, or Pilot Pro are affected.
ISSUE:
Systems may experience a loss of TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) data, causing them to not appear on the display. The issue will result in the age of the TFR data to be displayed as ‘N/A’.
NOTE
All other SiriusXM Aviation weather products work as intended.
ACTION:
If a loss of TFR data is observed, email aviation.support@siriusxm.com to schedule a time when the system can be powered on for approximately one hour with a clear view of the sky. During this time, SiriusXM will send several updates via its satellite to the aircraft.
NOTE
This action is temporary and is not a permanent fix.
RESOLUTION:
This issue has been fixed in GDL 69/69A SXM software version 5.21.
