Re: G1000 checklists
Russ,
It seems that the DA42 and the DA40 have significantly different software versions. I have version 370.22 (or maybe it is 370.20) but it is not 370.23 or 321.23. Sorry.

Re: G1000 checklists
I have the same problem with the checklist on my 2005 non-WAAS DA40. I have the checklist.ace file loaded on both top and bottom SD cards ( note I've tried all combinations of this) and still have the Checklist N/A showing. I have the 321.23 S/W installed. Anybody figured this out? Has anyone talked to Garmin about it?

Re: G1000 checklists
The DA42 software and DA40 software are different versions. When I went to non-WAAS 40 (with no checklists) to a non-WAAS 42 (both had the latest software versions) I gained the checklist back in the 42 but list the ability to track my flights using data logging. All other features seem to be the same over both non-WAAS platforms (although the 42 has SVT and Jepp charts).
I wish the 42 had the data logging so I could just update my logbook from data files rather than writing down each flight.

Re: G1000 checklists
Phil,
I, too, was disappointed in not being able to data log on my 42. What I did find is that using the program MyFlightbook was probably just as easy. It is a free program (although I, and others, have donated to him), it does everything you could want, and it logs (and tracks) your flights automatically. I use it on my iPad and have my MEI sign it when I do an IPC or flight review. The data are uploaded to his server, but you can download the data to an excel file and print it out if you wish to have a hard copy of your log book (which I also do). It allows you to keep track of both tach time and actual flight time (engine start to engine shut down) with just a press of the appropriate button on the flight page. If you haven't seen it or not using it, I suggest checking it out ( https://myflightbook.com/logbook/default.aspx ).

Re: G1000 checklists
Some of the posters have stated that the 321.23 is compatible with Non WAAS DA40s. Garmin service bulletins state only for WAAS equipped G1000s. Can anyone please show any official documents stating 321.23 can be installed on a Non WAAS da40 and can you show me a photo of your MFD with the versions loaded on a Non WAAS plane.
I would love to do the upgrade but have been continually told it is not allowed on the Non WAAS planes.
Thanks

Re: G1000 checklists
I recently upgraded to 321.23. I’d like to use the checklist on the G1000 but I’m too lazy to create my own .ace file and I have not been able to locate a pre-made checklist.ace file on the Damond site. Any links out there for a DA40 G1000 ace file?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: G1000 checklists
I contacted Diamond and they sent me a checklist file last week. I'll attach what they sent me. I hope this is correct and helps.

Re: G1000 checklists
Here is the one I have been using. The POH part is customized for my DA40, but you can change the data as needed. The rest of it is derived from the original checklist file, but modified for better flow (in my opinion, anyhow).

Re: G1000 checklists
Ok, how do you modify the checklist for the plane? Also, does the checklist file go in the upper or lower MFD card?

Re: G1000 checklists
There is a Checklist Editor program on the Garmin web site. I can try to find a link to it if you can't find it.
The checklist file goes on the LOWER card in the MFD,
